It will be shown as part of their opening night “Exp-ERIE-mental and Animated Shorts” block on Thursday, September 15th, at 9pm! “Giant Squid” will be playing in the 1pm Matinee Block of films this Saturday (between films from S. Korea and India) @ the 15 Minutes of Fame Film Festival in Palm Bay, FL. The Festival takes place at the Palm Bay Dollar Movies at 160 Malabar Rd. Tickets are $2.00 each. It’s a fantastic excuse for a road trip if you can make it! I’m very pleased to announce that DIMLY LIT FILMS’ “Giant Squid” is an Official Selection of the 2011 “15 Minutes of Fame” International Festival of Short Films, to be held in Palm Bay, Florida, on July 23. Production of “Outlaws Eat Lead” to Begin in June

“Outlaws Eat Lead”, the third animated short from Dimly Lit Films, will officially begin production in late June 2011. The production will reunite cast members from the first two shorts in addition to featuring several new voices.

From the synopsis: When Nellie’s husband is murdered and her ranch is burned down, she sets out to exact revenge on those responsible.

Animation on the short is expected to extend through the beginning of 2012.

Outlaws Eat Lead Teaser Poster

The winter hibernation is coming to an end, so here is a short update of what you can expect from Dimly Lit Films in the coming months…
I am currently finalizing the story which will become Dimly Lit Films’ first western, titled “Outlaws Eat Lead”. I expect to have a first draft script within the next several weeks. The production timeline will continue throughout 2011, with the finished animated short available sometime in 2012.
In other news, “Giant Squid” will finally be shipped out for festival consideration later this week. I have high hopes that it will find an audience before the summer is over.

“Giant Squid” Now Complete!

Dimly Lit Films’ newest animated short, “Giant Squid”, is now finished and ready to hit the festival circuit! It’s an 8 minute B-horror-adventure from the people who made “Frantic Undead.” The short was written, recorded, photographed, drawn and animated by Maxwell O. Perry in cities along the East Coast of the U.S. over the past year. The voiceover cast includes Lauren W. Glassbrenner, Anna Hatchett, Maxwell Perry, Ryan Hall, Frances Wasylewski and Jason Glassbrenner. A new trailer for the short will be available for viewing next Friday, September 24th.
