“Ghost Pirates” Premieres at Canaltown Spookyfest!

"Ghost Pirates" premiered at the Canaltown Short Spooky Movie Festival this past weekend. The film was an Official Selection of the festival which takes place in Honesdale, Pennsylvania and is in it's third year. “Ghost Pirates” Finishes Production!

"Ghost Pirates" is now a completed animated short. It's DIMLY LIT FILMS shortest animation and features a single narrator and a move toward even more drawn elements. It clocks in at 4min 25sec and you can view the trailer below. Look for it at film festivals in the coming year!

GHOST PIRATES Begins Production

Just like that, there is a new DIMLY LIT FILM in the works. Slated for 2017, the new animated short GHOST PIRATES has begun production. You can check out the first teaser below.


DIMLY LIT FILMS: THE FIRST FOUR SHORTS has been released on DVD! “Giant Squid” Makes an appearance at G-Fest XX


Recently, "Giant Squid" was an Official Selection of the first annual G-Fest XX film-stival in Rosemont, IL. The long running kaiju film convention which took place on July 12-14th, 2013, also showed films like "Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla,"among others, and had a tribute to Ray Harryhausen. “Outlaws Eat Lead” finishes post production, plus new trailer!

Dimly Lit Films first western, "Outlaws Eat Lead", finished post production in late April and is currently seeking film festivals for its premiere. The finished film clocks in at almost 8 minutes in length. In addition there is a new trailer for the film (see above). Enjoy!

“Giant Squid” @ 6th Annual B-Movie Celebration!

As previously mentioned, "Giant Squid" will be appearing as part of the 6th Annual B-Movie Celebration. The international b-movie festival takes place on September 14th and 15th in Columbus, Indiana at the YES Theatre.
